CTL_today = (TSS_today * (1/42)) + (CTL_yesterday * (1 - 1/42))It provides a realistic view of your fitness baseline. A high CTL means you have a large 'engine' but doesn't necessarily mean you are race-ready (that requires tapering to shed fatigue).
