A weighted average of your daily TSS over the last 42 days, representing your long-term training base.

Fitness (CTL) models your physiological capacity to handle stress. It's a rolling average that gives more weight to recent training. It is synonymous with your 'fitness' level—the higher it is, the more training you can handle, but it takes months to build significantly.

CTL_today = (TSS_today * (1/42)) + (CTL_yesterday * (1 - 1/42))

Why It Matters

It provides a realistic view of your fitness baseline. A high CTL means you have a large 'engine' but doesn't necessarily mean you are race-ready (that requires tapering to shed fatigue).
